Our Products & Services

Designed to meet global health challenges

The world – and the people who live here – is rapidly changing. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 17 million people under the age of 70 die each year from non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, or diabetes1. 86 % of these people live in low- and middle-income countries1. At the same time, life expectancy increased by more than six years2 between 2000 and 2019, and the world population is expected to hit 10 billion by 20503

As a consequence, more and more people will need access to high-quality therapies over a longer period of time, and critically and chronically ill patients need better clinical outcomes. As such, effective therapies, combined with high-tech medical applications and devices, will only grow in demand.

Our products and services are designed to meet this demand to support the health and well-being of patients worldwide.

Our quality management: ensuring patient safety & product quality

We hold our products and services to the strictest standards of quality and safety.

Quality management is a key factor, as it influences and monitors the applicability, efficacy, and safety of products and services, as well as the success of therapies and their continuous improvement. We ensure quality through the following systems:

  • We have early warning systems and pharmacovigilance procedures to ensure the safety of our products and services.
  • We have companywide standard operating procedures (SOPs) to continuously monitor the risk-benefit profile of our products and evaluate their implementation.
  • We regularly evaluate safety-related information from various sources, like adverse event reports and medical literature, and submit the results to regulatory authorities.
  • We promptly inform customers and the public about product and patient safety issues through direct communication or public relations channels.

We also regularly conduct internal quality audits to ensure the effectiveness of our quality management system. Suppliers undergo a qualification process. Any deficiencies identified by regulatory authorities, independent organisations, or customers are addressed by adequate measures.

Depending on the business area and market, we are subject to further specific regulatory requirements and standards. This includes standards legislation, like the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).

Our commitment to digitalisation & innovation

The digitalisation of healthcare is a growing trend, and one we all need to transform the way healthcare is delivered, accessed, and managed. Some key trends in this area include:

Telemedicine and Remote Care:
Telemedicine expands access to healthcare by offering remote services, increasing convenience for patients.

Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Interoperability:
Digital patient records improve data storage, accessibility, and care coordination. Interoperability allows seamless data sharing between providers, enhancing continuity of care.

Artificial Intelligence:
AI and machine learning analyze large datasets, aiding in diagnosis, treatment planning, and personalised medicine. AI also supports medical imaging, surgery, and disease prediction.

Digital Health Apps and Wearables:
Mobile apps and wearable devices empower individuals to actively manage their health.
