Meet Martino Balboni: Driving Innovation and Efficiency in Our Mirandola Plant

At Fresenius Kabi, our people are at the heart of our success. We recently had the chance to sit down with Martino Balboni, our Technical Office Filter Manager at the Mirandola plant in Italy, to learn more about his journey, his role, and what makes his work so impactful.

With a background in mechanical engineering from Ferrara University in Italy and a Master in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield University in the UK, Martino joined Fresenius Kabi in 2016. His career began as a process engineer and project manager, where he played a key role in launching automation lines that drive efficiency in our production processes. Today, as Technical Office Filter Manager, Martino leads a skilled team focused on maintaining and improving our automation lines, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Martino’s favorite part of his job? The variety of challenges and innovations that come with it. “From Industry 4.0 advancements to safety improvements, every project challenges us to think differently,” he says. “We’re not just maintaining our systems; we’re continuously enhancing them to increase efficiency.” His role also includes overseeing new automation projects and helping his team implement solutions that reduce production stops and enhance our production lines’ efficiency.

What makes working at Fresenius Kabi truly special for Martino is the impact he sees firsthand. “Some of my friends and family work in hospitals, and they often tell me how frequently they see our products there,” he shares. “It’s our commitment to life in action, and it reminds me of the real difference our work makes every day.”

Outside of work, Martino is an avid basketball player, participating in a local league in Mirandola – a great way to stay active and unwind after a busy day.

Martino’s dedication and hands-on approach exemplify the spirit of Fresenius Kabi. We’re proud to have him as part of our team and look forward to seeing the continued impact of his work on our processes and products.
